    Reading a card upside down

    When a card turns up upside down it's called a reversal. Many readers treat this as meaningful: rather than the card's opposite, a reversal is read as its energy being blocked, turned inward, delayed, or only partly present.

    Here, only the 22 Major Arcana can appear reversed. They speak to life's larger themes and turning points, so a reversal marks something worth pausing on: a lesson you may be resisting, or a change still taking shape. The Minor Arcana are always read upright.

    Reversals add nuance, and make room for readings about what's stuck or hidden, not only what's flowing. If you'd rather keep readings simple, leave them off. You can change this any time at the foot of the home page.

    What's kept on this device

    • Your pulls: which card, when, and any interpretation or notes you write.
    • Your settings: theme (Auto, Day or Night) and whether reversals are used.
    • An offline copy of the app and its card images, so it works without a connection.

    These live in your browser's own storage on this device. They aren't shared with other browsers or devices, which is why backups are offered.

    Daily Tarot doesn't use cookies of any kind.

    What reaches our server

    None of your readings, interpretations or notes. There are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking, and the app never sends your data anywhere. The server only delivers the app's files.

    Like almost every website, the server may keep standard technical logs of those file requests (such as IP address, time and file name). They never contain your readings.

    Outside services

    None. Everything the app uses, including its typefaces and card images, comes from this site, so your browser doesn't contact anyone else.

    Removing your data

    Use Clear history under Your History, or clear this site's data in your browser's settings. Backup files you save are ordinary files; delete them like any other.
